I think this is the only place where we differ in philosophy; I feel
fairly strongly that providing "credit" — or some similarly vague and hand-
wavey concept — should be as close to the event itself as possible.

(Exaggerating for effect, thanking someone for something they did a year
ago is not /quite/ the same to the unfortunately-irrational human brain,
after all.)
