General Enquiry on Buildinfo Checksum

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thanks for your great effort to the reproducible builds website. After reading the documentation, I have a general question related to that.

As I want to generate a reproducible checksum for my output files such that other developers could notice when there are any changes. I found that with reproducible builds, I could generate a checksum in .buildinfo file with mvn artifact:buildinfo (https://reproducible-builds.org/docs/jvm/). However after some research, there is lack of details, examples or best practice from online. I doubt if my method is a good way to do that. Grateful if you could provide any suggestions or online resources for my reference.
