we want to use this date to put it in webpages, for humans to consume. So not
having to convert an epoch into an ISO date will make things a bit easier :)

you mean, "we differ" as in "debian and opensuse differ"? then I think that's
fine, a.) this is the way we call these (differently) and b.) we wont compare
architectures directly, rather we would compare packages. (and for packages we
will use notes.git to map different source package names together…)
