This sums up my view quite succinctly so I will save a re-iteration of the
same points.

I would only add to this "ease of implementation" angle is that it just
makes it Less Weird for people who only care about reproducible builds to
adopt — we want to reduce as many potential mental hurdles and IMHO they
aren't necessarily technical ones.
