Indeed; attached.

I have a strong preference for the the environment variable approach.

Not only have we found that honouring SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH is far easier
and more intuitive for end-users to adopt in their build systems (rather
than ensuring they are passing the right set of command-line arguments),
it is also backwards-compatible with previous versions of mksquashfs,
preventing the need for ugly version checking.
